Je suis Charlie

Avant-hier, jai été complètement hébétée par les évènements.
Je ne suis pas la seule évidement, et je ne le suis pas plus ou moins qu'une autre.
Quelqu'un m'a dit que le fait d'être dessinatrice devait me faire sentir encore plus touchée dans ma chair (bullshit!)
Désolée demoiselle, mais nous sommes tous touchés dans notre chair.

Ce n'est pas une histoire de journalistes, ou de liberté de la presse, ou de minorités rabaissées...
Il s'agit ici de respect de l'autre dans son altérité.
Tous les autres.
Nous sommes dans un pays laïque qui prone la liberté, l'égalité et la fraternité...
La liberté de ne pas penser comme tous, la liberté de croire en Dieu ou pas, la liberté de le dire ou pas.
Mais surtout la liberté de ne pas être d'accord avec son voisin sans avoir peur pour sa vie.
L'ultime violence me semble être le discours des faible, des laches, de ceux qui ne savent pas expliquer, enseigner, raconter leur religion.


Since Wednesday,
like many French people,
I am overwhelmed by the shooting in Charlie Hebdo office, this satirical comics newspaper.
(12 people died and many others were injured by 2 islamic fundamentalists that did not agree about some drawings)

Obviously, I was not the only one.
Someone told me that i ought to be as my job was to draw too.
But, hey, no, this is total bullshit, we are ALL in the same position.
This is not a journalists tragedy, nor a problem with press freedom, nor even a oppressed minority issues...
It is a problem with respect at its core. Respect of each individual.
France is a laïc country, that is everybody can believe in whatever he or she wants but cannot impose his or her religion upon others. Our moto is liberty, equality and fraternity.
Freedom not to think like others, freedom to believe in God, or not, freedom to express it, or not.
But most of all, freedom not to agree with the neighbors and not be afraid for ones life.
The ultimate violence is for me the words of the weaks, the cowards, those who do not know how to explain, teach or even tell about their religion.
